In order to enhance employees' awareness of fire protection and prevent fire accidents, Shantou Leishi Plastics Technology Co., Ltd. and the instructor of the Fire Department jointly held a special lecture on fire protection knowledge popularization on December 11, 2020.

Now I want to popularize some knowledge about fire fighting, which is closely related to our daily life.

The world's first fire extinguisher was invented in 1834 by George William Manby, who invented the portable compressed gas fire extinguisher.

There are many kinds of fire extinguishers, which can be divided into portable type and trolley type according to their moving mode. According to the power source of driving extinguishing agent, it can be divided into cylinder type, pressure type and chemical reaction type. According to the fire extinguishing agent filled can be divided into foam, dry powder, halogenated alkyl, carbon dioxide and water, etc.

There are three types of fire extinguishing methods: cooling, isolation and asphyxiation.

1.The principle of the cooling method is to spray the extinguishing agent directly on the burning object, so as to reduce the burning temperature below the ignition point and stop the burning.

2.The principle of the isolation method is to isolate or remove the burning material and the surrounding non-burning combustible material, which interrupts the supply of combustible material and makes the combustion stop due to the lack of combustible material.

3.The principle of asphyxiation method is to prevent the air from flowing into the combustion zone or dilute the air with non-combustion zone or non-combustion material, so that the combustion material can not get enough oxygen and go out.
